West End is participating in the READBowl founded by former Georgia Bulldog, Malcolm Mitchell. READBowl is a FREE global reading competition where PreK-12th grade aged teams around the globe compete to read for the most minutes. The competition begins TODAY (1/13) and culminates with a live crowning of the World Champions of Reading on the morning of the NFL's Super Bowl Sunday. Please encourage your child to read each night and record it in their reading logs to participate! Help us win!
Snow Day Fun!
Attention Rome City Schools Families: In alignment with our Keeping Schools Safe Initiative, all Rome City Schools will be closed on Friday, January 10 due to the threat of inclement weather. Rome Middle School is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for the STEM Academy for the 2025-2026 school year! Rising 7th graders who would like to apply should complete both the application and submit teacher recommendations. All necessary forms and instructions can be accessed through our application portal on Google Classroom. Use the code 7msedtk to join and get started! Applications are due February 17th!

Mrs. Gray invited her students’ former reading teachers to surprise them by visiting her class to read a book. This class started Kindergarten the same year as Dr Drummond’s first year as Principal, so he came to read too. So special!

Fall pictures were sent home last week. Either money for the pictures or the pictures are due back on Monday, Dec. 16th.
Fifth grade has been learning about electricity and magnetism. They combined the two together to build electromagnets. They explored the features, varied their designs to increase the power, while collecting and analyzing data.
Members of the math team from Berry College stopped by today to drop off some gifts of classroom supplies that will be helpful for a variety of instructional tasks. We are thankful for our partnerships with Berry College!
