We are thankful for our partnership with Johnny Adhikari and the West Rome Raceway and the support they show our students and staff! We also appreciate everyone who has used "Pump 16" for fill-ups when you are in the area. Every time you use that pump, West End receives a donation. We received a check for over $500 this week! Thank you for being so supportive!

Today we announced that West End students have logged 893,548 minutes of reading so far this year. That means we have exceeded our first school-wide goal of 750,000 minutes which also means Dr. Drummond will have to spend a full day riding the halls on a scooter. Our next goal is 1,500,000 minutes! Please keep encouraging your child to read each night and record it in their reading logs!
Students who have recorded at least 750 minutes have earned a red hat they can wear every Friday. We have 6 classes with 100% of students earning their red hats!
Congratulations to these classes:
Ms. Coffman
Ms. Hyman
Ms. Meeks
Ms. Cisneros
Ms. Hart
Ms. Jarrell

Mrs. Weeks’ third graders have been having fun integrating reading and science. Students are currently reading a text about light and sound. After reading about light refraction, students were able to use a prism to see the process happen.

Fourth grade went to visit the Booth Museum in Cartersville. They worked on a live STEM build of a stagecoach and learned many things about Westward Expansion.

Be sure to check out our WEE Cloggers who will be performing Friday night at 6:30 at the City Auditorium.
