As teachers and students are enjoying a much deserved Fall Break, our custodial and facilities teams have been hard at work! Our gym upgrades are finished, our awning for the new learning cottages is nearing completion, and our building has never been cleaner! @romecityschools

Fall Break is a great time to read! Use our free online library called Sora tinyurl.com/WEEsora or check these ebooks that are free through the public library! All you need is your library card: https://georgialibraries.org/ereadkids/ @RomeCitySchools

Our West End artists are showing off their talents at the fair this week! @romecityschools

Our 2nd graders learned about the key elements of stories as they explained the beginning, climax, solution, and character’s feelings of the book they read in their group. They expanded on these concepts as they wrote on their “pizza slices”! @romecityschools

Our Pre-K classes continued the celebration of #GaPreKWeek today with a live jam session with Coy Bowles from the Zac Brown Band (musician)! He read his new book (Can You Touch a Color?), and all of our students received their own copy of it! #WEEloveReading @romecityschools

West End is “Wild About Reading”! We are encouraging students to read 20 minutes every night so they can earn one of these amazing shirts! #WEEloveReading @romecityschools

Patricia Studdard and Maxine Strickland have been faithfully serving our students and families as crossing guards for 20 years this week! West End and our PTO honored these amazing ladies for their devotion! Thank you for keeping us safe! #OurCrossingGuardsRock @romecityschools

West End is “crazy” about Pre-K!! Research has shown that early childhood experiences and education shape the brain. One of the many reasons that quality early learning is essential for young children. #GaPreKWeek. @romecityschools

Don't Forget:
Thursday and Friday, October 7 and 8, will be Flexible Learning Days for ALL of Rome City Schools!

Reminder: Fall Break is October 11-15.

Quality early learning for young children improves third grade reading proficiency and increases high school graduation rates. One of the many reasons we support #GaPreKWeek @romecityschools

Due to wet field conditions and the likelihood of rain tomorrow, we will postpone the 3rd-grade performance/ PTO meeting originally scheduled for tomorrow night until Tuesday, Oct. 26th (3 weeks from tomorrow). It will still be at the same time - 6 pm. @romecityschools
