Vigoa Signs for Baseball

Rome High School student, Jonathan Vigoa, put pen to paper on Thursday, November 11, as he committed to playing baseball at the college level for Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

With his teammates, friends, and family all gathered in support of this huge milestone, Vigoa and his family’s excitement was evident as he signed the papers presented, marking the deal official.

"This accomplishment is well deserved,” said Rome High Head Baseball Coach, Brent Tucker, to the room full of guests. “Jonathan has always been willing to make the sacrifices necessary in order to achieve his goals. We are so proud of him.”

Vigoa could be found giving high-fives, hugs, and fist bumps as each person in attendance took the time to say congratulations and wish him luck.

“More than anything, I appreciate all of the support,” smiled Vigoa. "All of these people who came here today… I couldn’t have done it without them. Each and every one of these people here has helped impact me in some way or another, and I just am so appreciative.”

“This is just the beginning of the next chapter, and I couldn’t be more excited!” he ended.

Vigoa’s parents, Marianny and Felipe Vigoa, were beaming with pride as they watched their son commit to playing the game he loves for another four years. “Words can’t express just how proud we are for our son,” said Marianny.

From a Wolf to a RedHawk… we will always be cheering you on, Jonathan!
