Three Rome High School students have earned national recognition for their academic achievement after being named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Yash Garg, Nina Mayer and Chloe Pullen earned the honor based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes Commended Students for their exceptional academic promise and strong performance among students who entered the annual competition.
“We are extremely proud of Yash, Nina and Chloe for earning this recognition,” Rome High School Principal Dr. Christy Epps said. “They have worked hard in the classroom and challenged themselves academically throughout their time at Rome High. Being named a National Merit Commended Student recognizes that commitment, and we are excited to celebrate this accomplishment with them.”
The recognition adds to a strong year of academic accomplishments for Rome High students.
“These three students continue to Move the Needle and represent the academic excellence we want to see throughout Rome City Schools,” Superintendent Dr. Eric L. Holland said. “Yash, Nina and Chloe have demonstrated what students can accomplish through hard work and a commitment to learning. We are proud of them and look forward to seeing what they accomplish next.”
