Book Drive

The week before spring break, RHS held a book drive to help tornado victims of Amory High School in Amory, Mississippi. A powerful tornado ripped through the small town of Amory, MS, leaving a large path of devastation over the weekend before spring break. Ms. Blalock had seen an article where the Amory High School Key Club was running a used book drive to offer free books to students and staff. The Key Club's hard work was put on hold due to the town and school's destruction. Thanks to RCS students, faculty, SGA, NHS, OALAS, and Ms. Reid from Central Office, Ms. Blalock and her husband were able to deliver around 650 books to the Amory Key Club during spring break. Ms. Blalock stated that it doesn't matter if it's the teacher down the hallway or two states away- teachers help teachers. It's wonderful how quickly everyone pulled together to make this tornado relief book drive a success!
